Peaky Blinders’s director teased the final season, but it may not be the end of the story

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders’ success is incredible; no matter how much time passes, each season breaks records. This time, Director Paul Byrne teased the sixth-final season, although it appears that the history is not over

The sixth and final season of the hit BBC and Netflix drama “Peaky Blinders” will conclude. According to the series’ official Twitter account, the filming of the new episodes wrapped up in May, creating a great deal of anticipation that has lasted since the announcement that the next season would be the final one.

Despite the secrecy that surrounded any information about the upcoming season, the director Paul Byrne was the one who gave fans a sneak peek at what’s to come via a Digital Spy interview.

In the interview, Paul confirmed that the character who spanked Tommy will be revealed this season, but what was most important and what made all of the fans think was that the director confirmed that all of those who paid attention to all of the details will already know who the traitor is, due to the fact that the character was always visible to all.

As a consequence, no one from the show’s cast was able to provide any new information regarding the upcoming season. In fact, actor Finn Cole acknowledged the possibility that his character, Michael, is the traitor, but feels that siding with Tommy Shelby would be a terrible mistake.

A highlight of the interview was the mention of the character Gina, played by Any Taylor Joy. The director commented that Gina is a manipulator who is always waiting to make her moves, which fueled many fans’ theories that she could actually be the traitor in the series.

A future Peaky Blinders film?

Despite the fact that the story is coming to an end, viewers are eager to learn more about Tommy Shelby’s life. The series appears to be coming to an end, but creator and writer Steven Knight has vowed that the tale would “continue in another form.”

“Along with our wonderful, supportive partners at BBC and Netflix, we have been working diligently to ensure we can get ‘Peaky’ safely back into production; the safety of our cast and crew is always our priority.” Said Steven Knight.

“Thank you to all the ‘Peaky’ fans who have been so unwaveringly supportive and patient. Steve’s scripts are incredible and mark the end of an epic story that has entranced audiences since it first started in 2013, but the world of ‘Peaky Blinders’ will most definitely live on.” He added.

Not only that, but Cillian Murphy, the actor who plays Tommy Shelby, has confirmed that a Peaky Blinders film is in the works after the TV season finale, but he also stated that the cast and crew of the hit show are still coming to terms with the death of fellow cast member Helen McCrory, who died in April aged 52 after a battle with cancer.

On Today FM, he told Dermot and Dave “I think there will be a film. I think that will happen”

“A lot of the thing with it now is trying to get everybody together at the same time because everyone is so busy, but I think the plan is to do it. It’s the end of the TV show for now in this current form and I think Steven Knight is definitely keen to make the film. It would be great, a 50-year-old Tommy Shelby.” He added.

Thanks to this, the hype of the fans with the premiere of the last season and what is to come in the future for the series, maybe a movie, is at stratospheric levels. Clearly, Peaky Blinders will not be forgotten, as we have Game of Thrones as a clear example. After the end of the famous HBO series, new projects were created to keep alive the medieval fantasy universe that hooked a large audience.
