Netflix teases Army of Thieves, the prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead

Army of Thieves

Zack Snyder along with Netflix presented us with a teaser trailer today for Army of Thieves, the Army of the Dead prequel. The film premieres on the popular streaming platform later this fall.

Although Zack Snyder didn’t quite believe in Army of the Dead, the success of the movie – which we have already talked about here at The Chicago Edge – has made him change his mind, and he is coming with everything this fall. Army of Thieves, the prequel to Army of the Dead, will continue the story already presented by the first installment of the zombie universe created by Snyder in conjunction with Netflix.

Army of Thieves

Army of Thieves will tell the story of Ludwig Dieter (Matthias Schweighöfer), who we have already seen use his abilities to open any door. In this case, Dieter will be challenged by a mysterious woman to carry out a series of heists around Europe.

This time, it appears that we will not have a film about how to survive in an apocalyptic world. Everything points to Army of Thieves being nothing like its predecessor. According to the teaser trailer, zombies are not in the mix, and it seems that the story is based on a major heist. We will have to wait to see what Snyder has for us with his new movie this fall.

Snyder’s busy schedule

Army of Thieves isn’t Zack Snyder’s only project. Aside from the October release date, the American director has an active production of Army of the Dead set to debut in 2022, The Flash from DC set to debut the same year, and we may also see in the future Rebel Moon, a new project from Snyder that aims to compete with the popular Star Wars franchise from Disney and LucasFilm.
