Luca is Pixar’s new Disney+ release for summer 2021

After a big success at the Oscars with the movie Soul – which walked away with three wins, including Best Animated Feature – Pixar is at it again with Luca. The studio’s new animated film debuts this summer.
Luca tells the story of two brothers who are sea monsters, living in the Italian Riviera near a village called Portorosso. Together with his brother Alberto Scorfano, the main character embarks on a journey experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta, and endless scooter rides.
Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, Giulia Marcavaldo, but a secret threatens all the fun. As we mentioned, they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface. As time goes by, the experience becomes more and more dangerous because it becomes clear who Luca and Alberto are just from touching the water.
The creators of Coco, Inside Out, and Cars 3 bring us a film that looks set to become a Pixar classic. Shaping a completely different reality and an Italy without stereotypes, it premieres this summer on the Disney+ paid streaming platform. Its release date is currently scheduled for June 18, 2021.
