The prequel to the popular HBO TV series, Game of Thrones, is coming in 2022. Today, we got a first look at House of the Dragon.
Despite the issues that enveloped HBO following the much-criticized Game of Thrones conclusion, fans of the series were still looking for information on additional content from the George R. R. Martin series that had won them over. Today, HBO delivered a bombshell: a new teaser for House of the Dragon, a Game of Thrones prequel based on one of the series’ most interesting houses, the Targaryens.
House of the Dragon
It is worth noting that the original series is based on George R.R. Martin’s book series A Song of Ice and Fire. Furthermore, it has been discovered that the writer is not a member of the production’s screenplay team, which has increased interest in how it will be developed. It’s also revealed that House of the Dragon takes place 300 years before the Game of Thrones TV series.
Meanwhile, the series will concentrate on the history of House Targaryen, especially from its inception until its conclusion. Of course, the HBO production will have a large number of dragons flying over the air, and the life of Viserys will be revealed. The task, of course, will be to assume his election as Lord of Westeros in order to succeed his grandfather, Jaehaerys Targaryen, on the throne.
For many Game of Thrones fans, knowing who will be in control of the series is crucial. Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik will serve as showrunners for the project. The first of them will be the coordinator of the writing team, which will write the first season’s ten chapters. In terms of the latter, he was in charge of directing the pilot as well as all subsequent episodes.
House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO Max in 2022.
