Spring is in the air in Chicago, and with that comes outdoor activities. Sure enough, the annual Chicago Kids and Kites Festival is right around the corner.

The festival is in its 22nd year this year. It returns to Cricket Hill at Montrose Harbor, which is located at the corner of Montrose and Wilson. The event takes place on Saturday, May 2 from 10 AM until 4 PM.

Best of all, admission is free and open to the public. The city will be providing free kite kits while supplies last. Kids will be able to get creative and decorate their kites before they fly them.

In addition, the festival will feature professional kite flyers Team Sky-FX. They will display their synchronized kite flying maneuvers throughout the day. There will also be music from WeJam DJ Academy and activities such as face painting, balloon artists, arts and crafts, food trucks and more.
