Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer reveals that Bill Murray is back

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

After at least two date changes, the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife is finally approaching. A just-released trailer has a big surprise for fans.

After a reboot that fell short of the original’s success, the Ghostbusters franchise returns with Ghostbusters: Afterlife. We just got a sneak peek with a new trailer, revealing that Bill Murray is returning.

The new film, which was delayed owing to the pandemic, starts up decades after the previous two films in the trilogy, with Dr. Egon Spengler’s family (played by the late actor Harold Ramis) finding his life as a phantom while learning about the presence of life after death.

The good old Bill Murray is back!

“Who you gonna call?” when the end of the world appears to be nigh, the phone rings, but Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) refuses to answer it. The renowned actor’s character answers the phone at the conclusion of the teaser and says, “We are closed.”

The storyline surprise revealed by Jason Reitman in the teaser for his forthcoming film will be familiar to die-hard fans of the franchise. It’s a fantastic detail that nicely intertwines both generations of Ghostbusters, with the presence of Bill Murray and maybe more characters from the old films.

After many delays, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is coming to theaters on November 11, 2021.
